For anyone planning on coming to Haiti anytime soon within the next day or so, please keep abreast of the news in Haiti. For the past few days, there has been an increase in kidnappings and killings. Five missionaries were kidnapped yesterday, three were killed and two are still being held (as far as I know) for $200,000 ransom. According to a news article I found on the internet (if you want me to send you these articles, E mail me), more than 29 kidnappings have occurred for the month of July alone and 1/3 of those have been US citizens. I urge you to stay informed before coming to Haiti at this time. There was heavy gun fire all around the Haitian airport yesterday and today. If you have a scheduled trip to Haiti, please check daily and write me offline to know what the atmosphere is like for traveling.
